Carry out Most of us Desire a Spiritual Teacher?

There’s so much talk around today about enlightened masters and gurus. It’s common knowledge that should you accept one as your individual guide, they will make sure to allow you to together with your personal development. It almost makes you feel compelled to truly have a teacher!

My theory is that people don’t all need teachers, but most of us need to be students. It’s humbling. And being humble is the opening to a deeper discovery.

In my experience not merely human beings are great teachers. Pets and animals are great teachers too. So can be mountains, oceans, deserts and flowers. All life is pulsing with teaching. We should just be open and have the guidance.

Horses are healing creatures and teach us to possess faith and trust, develop our leading abilities and stay committed to the vision. This happens, for me, even on tough days when nothing seems to work a course in miracles. They are able to teach us, such noble beings as they are, that people can love unconditionally, share freely, communicate openly and create cooperatively. To truly have the ultimate relationship with a horse there should be no hidden agendas, no limitations on love and no withholding of anything.

Now that can be tough, but we’ve an option in these matters. All decisions and choices we make may create a critical impact and can produce an exceptional impact on our lives. For instance, if we choose to be frightened, we WILL be scared. Let’s face it, in the end there’s nothing really to hesitate of, unless we DECIDE that there is. But we could allow it to be up and we could pretend. You see, all beings reflect what and who we are in relationships – horses are no exception. Remember that the planet was designed for us so that people may have a context within which to experience ourselves as who we really are.

It’s fundamental to realise that people are truly connected with everything and everyone. What is good for may very well not be beneficial to your horse. What’s harmful to may very well not be also harmful to your horse. It’s not as you are able to only change your horse’s behaviour; your horse can influence you to improve your own behaviour. My horse has been one of my greatest teachers. When I work and play with him, my every thought, word and deed is reflected. It’s not really a revolution on exactly how we assist horses that is needed, it’s a revolution of the mind that people must certanly be having. It’s our thinking that we should change.
